Circles: create, join, roles, rename, leave, delete

A circle is a private group. You get one automatically when you sign up, and you can create or join more. A circle holds up to 50 people including the owner, on free and paid plans alike.

Roles

• Owner — created the circle. Can do everything, including deleting it.
• Admin — can edit the circle and manage plain members.
• Member — everyone else.

Create a circle

1. Open Home.
2. Tap the circle switcher at the top of the map.
3. Choose to create a new circle.
4. Give it a name.

Rename a circle

1. Open Settings from the profile button on the map.
2. Tap Manage Circle.
3. Tap Circle Name.
4. Type the new name and tap Save.

Only the Owner and Admin can rename a circle. For everyone else the row is there but locked.

Make someone an admin

1. Open Settings from the profile button on the map.
2. Tap Manage Circle.
3. Tap View circle members.
4. Tap the person.
5. Tap Make Admin.

Only the Owner can manage admins. Remove admin rights on the same screen puts someone back to an ordinary member.

Remove someone from the circle

1. Open Settings from the profile button on the map.
2. Tap Manage Circle.
3. Tap View circle members.
4. Tap the person.
5. Tap Remove from Circle and confirm.

The Owner and an Admin can remove people, but an Admin can only remove plain members — not the Owner and not another Admin. The Owner can never be removed. To remove yourself, use Leave circle instead.

Leave a circle

1. Open Settings from the profile button on the map.
2. Tap Manage Circle.
3. Tap Leave circle and confirm.

You stop sharing your location there and lose access to that circle's places and alerts.

The Owner cannot leave. An owner either deletes the circle or hands ownership to someone else first.

Delete a circle

1. Open Settings from the profile button on the map.
2. Tap Manage Circle.
3. Tap Delete this circle.
4. Type the circle's name exactly as it is written, to confirm.
5. Tap the delete button.

Only the Owner can delete a circle. Deleting destroys the circle's map history, places and alerts for everyone in it, permanently, and there is no way to get it back.

You cannot delete your last circle. Zeno24 needs at least one circle to work, so create or join another first — or just rename this one, if the name was the problem.

Deleting a circle does not cancel its subscription. The subscription belongs to the circle, but it is billed by the App Store or Google Play, and neither of them knows the circle is gone. Cancel it in the store if you are finished with it.
